Upcoming Appearances
I’m putting together this year’s convention schedule, so mark your calendars. Coming up in April, I’ll be appearing at the LA Times Bookfest, from the 21st to the 22nd. I’ll be signing at the Oni Press booth. Free sketches to anyone with the password “grumble.” Next up, it’s Stumptown, where I’ll be promoting the new Courtney Crumrin ongoing series. That’s April 28th and 29th in Portland, OR. I may also be doing a reading at Bridge City Comics on the 26th. Stay tuned for more info. Another successful D-Con
If you’ve never been to Dragon-Con, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s non-stop parties, amazing guests, amazing things to buy, and best of all, amazing fans in amazing costumes. It’s the only festival I know where the main attraction is the other attendees. Those who consider Dragon-Con to be Comic-Con’s poor relation simply don’t get it. Dragon-Con is Comic-Con’s exotic, bohemian cousin, living free in Paris and dating can-can girls. Here’s a selection of commission sketches from last weekend. Enjoy. Photos courtesy of Lan Pitts.

A Little Good Neighbors 3
Still chained to my desk, slaving away to finish Good Neighbors 3. On the other hand, I finally managed to make the style I’ve been experimenting with work. Here’s a sample. In other news, I’m definitely not going tobe at Comic-Con International in San Diego this year. I’m really sad about this. It’s the first one I’ve missed in 20 years. But I really need to get Good Neighbors finished. Plus, with the money I save, I’ll be able to go to New York Comic Con. If you’re an east-coaster, I’ll see you there.

Festival Gotico in Malaga
My trip to Spain was delightful. Folks in Madrid bought copies of the rather handsome Spanish edition of Polly. In Malaga, I was less known, so I fell back on the sure-fire approach of sketching folks favorite characters. Malaga is the home of Facebook’s Club Batman, so there was lots of Batman-related requests, which was not a problem. Here’s a selection of the sketches.
