Heroines Kickstarter Moratorium
It’s with enormous gratitude and not a little sadness that I write my final message for this campaign. Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing proposition, and unfortunately, HEROINES didn’t reach its goal. Not this time, anyway.
HEROINES is a very special book to me, and I will find a way to make it happen. But if Kickstarter is good for anything, it’s good for testing the waters. Right now, there just aren’t enough fans waiting for this book. I’m hoping to change that in the coming months. To that end, I’d like to ask you all to sign up for my mailing list. I’ll be sending out short monthly bulletins about HEROINES as well as my other upcoming projects. And if you sign up, you’ll be the first to know when I launch a new campaign.
I want to thank Shon Bury, Jacob Bascle, Amelia Thompson, JD Boucher, Taylor Smith, and everyone else at Space Goat publishing for putting together this campaign. I also want to thank the incredibly talented Wilson Large for knocking out a splendid campaign video. And my indefatigable friend Paget, whom you have to thank for those messages in your twitter mailbox.
Most especially, I want to thank you all for pledging. You can’t know how much it has meant to me to hear from you all. That alone was worth the heartache of seeing a beloved project fall through. Marketing has always seemed the most daunting part of creative work, but seeing your growing support for this project, hearing from and chatting with you all, made it a delight. I look forward to more of that.
