I’m greatly looking forward to reading this tomorrow. It’s the reason I finally broke down and started a pull list at my local shop. There was no way I was missing this book!

I honestly have no doubts. The only question is how MUCH I’ll like it. I’ve been blown away by each new story and am so glad that there’s going to be new, regular creator owned work from one of my favorite creators.

Heck, “The Fire Thief’s Tale” is still one of my all time favorite werewolf stories. (The other fave being Hellboy: The Wolves of St. August.) The depiction of Rawhead and Bloddy Bones was the first time a comic book drawing legitimately creeped me out since I was a kid. The cover of Courtney Crumrin and the Prince of Nowhere should be framed on a wall.

What I’m saying is that I’m excited.

Derrick: The cover to PoN is framed on a wall in Belgium somewhere. I had debated on buying it for years, but ended up selling it to a lovely woman for her son.

Just read Courtney Crumrin #1, and fell in love! I have never heard of her before, but just looking up online, it seems I have been missing out on this hidden gem. I have no recourse but to go straight to eBay and buy up all the previous issues out there, I enjoyed the book so much. So, thank you, Ted, for giving this nerd another comic addiction… lol. I hope this new series goes on for a very long time!

I can’t wait to get my hands on the color hardcovers when they come out. I saw the first one the other day, but only had money for one book. So I grabbed Polly 2.

But I did get to read the first Courtney installment just today. I loved it! Is there a schedule for when the rest will be coming out?

And not to pester you with more questions… Will Courtney Tales be coming out in a small edition like volumes 1-4? Will the new Courtney story come out in one volume? And does it have a title other than just Courtney Crumrin?

I’ve loved everything I’ve read of yours and your art for The Good Neighbors, but Courtney is my favorite so I’m thrilled there’s new stuff!

Thanks for the note. glad you liked the series so much. To answer your questions…

The Courtney volume 2 hardcover will be out in August, and volume 3, sometime around the end of the year.

Courtney Tales will get its own hardcover treatment. The new series will eventually be released as hardcovers, with each volume having its own title, but that’s no reason not to get the monthlies. Buying monthlies is what keeps them coming.

      Thanks again.

I have to ask if only because it’s mentioned in that review:

Are you still working on that sequel to Polly and the Pirates? And better yet, will you be the one to illustrate it? I can’t recall where, but I remember reading that while you had plans to continue the story, you were going to turn the job of drawing it over to another. My heart broke when I read that.

Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE Courtney, and as soon as I can find a way to add the next volume to my current collection while I’m living in Italy, I will! But Polly and the Pirates was this little book of awesomeness that I so want to see continued as well.

    • Ted Naifeh

The sequel to Polly and the Pirates is already in the stores, and it was beautifully drawn by Robbi Rodriguez. Please reserve judgement till you’ve seen the awesomeness.

  • Katt Small

Oh bloody hell… Well, THAT’S embarrassing as all get out. I shall amend my lack of awesomeness and get me a copy tout de suite! :3 Thank you for letting me know!

I was so excited to get this issue on Comic Book Day. I picked up Courtney a few years back was love at first sight!! Holly is such a great character and its nice to see Courtney meet her match! Anticipation makes the heart grow fonder and I can’t wait for issue 2. Thanks for bringing her back. Much Love from Nashville, TN!!

    Crumrin!
I haven’t seen one of these in years
-though every time I saw Maisie Williams in Game of Thrones I thought they’ve missed the chance to cast a perfect Courtney for the once muted film. Ah well.
